Kelly Clarkson? Maybe not today!
So, seeing as how I am getting ready to vacation next week, I wanted to do something cool, and different to my hair. So I decided to go ahead and do the Kelly Clarkson look… with a about 2 shades darker… (Yeah, I know, accident waiting to happen).
Well I went Tuesday, with pictures, in hand to get the job done. So the hair dresser (HD) starts off really well. She shows me a few swatches and totally sounds like she knows what she is doing, (I mean, this is her job… right?). So she starts coloring away. 1.5 hours later… she washes off the color… and vuala … I am left with platinum, blond highlights over dark hair. –I was good though. I kept my cool, and told her she needed to darken it. So here we go again. She put a “toner” to tone down the blonde, and 1 hour later… I am faced with pale, yellow high lights. –Again… I kept my cool, I figured… it is what it is… let’s just fix it. Well I tell her again, it needs to be darker. So here we again… (you know.. some say 3rd time is the charm… I say.. HA!). Well she “tones” it some more. And another hour later… and now
Well needless to say, I was back there next evening. You see, once I saw my hair in actual day light… I realized… it wasn’t pale yellow, it was green. Apparently, when blonde coloring is mixed with certain chemicals… it turns hair green… So anyway, she starts to “fix it” again… tones it… tones it some more, and when we are done… 1 hour later… I have nice beautiful, auburn high lights… and again, this is not what I wanted… So I finally I said… just color it all dark brown. I’m tired, my hair is going to fall off if I keep doing this, (and although it sounded pleasing, not to have to worry about coloring, I opt not to be bald).
SO… 8 hours and $140.00 later, my hair color is the same color I walked in with.
My lesson learned you ask? Patience is a virtue!

Thanks for dropping by my blog.
Gosh, you've got more patience than me. I'm usually quite laid back too but by the third time I think I may have lost my cool. (Especially when I realised my hair was green!)
I have to agree with Oaktree, though, it does make a pretty fabulous story :-)
